MEDIA RELEASE: Jobs Found – Come And Get Them!

Reinvent Your Career CEO, Nicholas Ricciuti, says this weekend we are highlighting over 1,000 real jobs. Despite the current job shedding, there is enough growth and thereby interest from employers to create Sydney’s largest adult careers event for 2012.

“We speak with senior HR managers around Australia on a daily basis,” Ricciuti says. “While many are cautious about the future and concerned about the current downturn, many have the opposite problem – they still have jobs that need filling right now.”

Mr Ricciuti says employers are seeking health and community-sector workers, paramedics, police and defence recruits, and administrative staff, as well as hospitality workers, sales staff, construction workers and labourers, taxi drivers and many more.

These employers include: Aussie Home Loans, Coates Hire, Flight Centre, ATEL – Apprentices Trainees Employment Limited, Australian Concert & Entertainment Security, NSW Taxi Council, Restaurant & Catering Australia, carecareers, Transpacific Cleanaway, Philip Morris Limited and Paramedical Services Pty Ltd, to name just a few. All of whom will be exhibiting at the upcoming Sydney Reinvent Your Career Expo.

“Over a thousand jobs need filling in the immediate and short-term,” Mr Ricciuti says. “The discrepancy between what’s in the media and what jobs and opportunities are actually available comes down to communication, or the lack of.”

“This fact, coupled with the negative preconceptions people have carried about industries and organisations, have prevented potential employees in the past from considering a job role or career opportunities. Organisations are now, more than ever, looking to maximise return on investment.”

“Organisations face new employer branding challenges now. While some are perceived to be shrinking as a whole, they are simultaneously looking for specific skills sets right now to fill much-needed roles that will lead their organisation’s future economic strength and prosperity.”

“For savvy employees, this situation provides the opportunity to increase their value by upgrading, reskilling, further education or totally reinventing their careers, as organisations look to fulfil current skills-shortage issues.”

“Skills and culture matching, not simply job hunting, is becoming the norm for adult workers. Taking the opportunity today to position yourself with the right skillsets to mirror future industry workforce demands is essential,” says Mr Ricciuti.

The Sydney Reinvent Your Career Expo is on this weekend, the  8th and 9th of September, at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from 10am to 4pm. Tickets are available at the door for $10 for a day pass or $15 for a two day pass, under are 18 free.
